A great edition that gives a cross section of excellent mystery writers for someone who thought about getting into the mystery genre but hasn't yet done so.

Overall, this is a solid, Good+ copy in a like dust jacket, which has small losses and short creased tears to the spine ends, edges and corners, wear along the hinges and folds, sunning to he spine, and rubbing with moderate smudging to the covers.

Pages lightly age-toned, spine with a few tiny spots, boards with modest edgewear, very good in a price-clipped about very good dust jacket with a small round tear on the spine (affecting the title), tanning, an ink mark on the front flap and small chips and tears along the edges. Original Cloth. Condición: Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Poor. Minton, John Ilustrador. 1st Edition. The top right hand corner of the jacket and boards have been badly affected by damp. This has left staining and surface wear and creasing to a two inch area on both the top corners of the front and rear panels. The top corners of the pages at the front of the book have dark staining through to the beginning of the text. There is also staining to the top corners at the back of the book but this is much less severe. The spine has small strips of fading at the top and bottom. The endpapers are browned with some spotting to the rear endpapers. The pages are otherwise generally unmarked but, unsurprisingly, the book has a musty smell. The jacket has large pieces missing along the top edges of the front and rear panels and the spine with some staining at the tops of the flaps. The spine has about five inches of closed tearing to the bottom half and there is a chip missing at the bottom of the spine. Jacket illustration by John Minton. First printing.
