A curious and very scarce record, which makes reference to an order sent by Parliament to the writer, John Paschall, and one John Parkhurst and others, requesting recipients to exhibit an accoun…t of all the ships and goods taken and condemned as Prize during the "late War". With a table detailing the necessary information, including the names of ships and vessels, number and quality of guns received, when paid for, by whose orders, annual salaries or other allowances, etc. This is bound together with 'A List of the Names of such Captains who Served in His Majesty's Fleet, during the late War', (dated 27 May 1700), dates of their first commission as captain and which of them were presently emplyed at the time, followed by a very similar list, but with the names of Lieutenants, dated July 1, 1700. Register: A-D2, B2, A2, B3. Register for Mr. Paschall's letter (A-D2) collated against ESTC No. T41559 and is complete. Bound in plain brown wrappers. Bound in plain brown wrappers. Externally, with moderate edge wear, with loss to the tail of the spine and small splits around the staples. Internally, firmly bound.
