The book builds on extensive visual research into the image rhetorics used by far-right political groups online, especially those employing positive visual language to convey hate messages.Jakob Ganslmeier and Ana Zibelnik are an artist duo who collaborate on photography and video projects that center on the creation of youth identity, particularly the influence of extreme ideologies on young people. Elisa Medde is a photography editor, curator and writer. Between 2012-23, she served as Editor-in-Chief of Foam Magazine. Genauso wie dieser populäre Reisebegleiter seine Empfehlungen für der Erkundung fremder Länder in einzelne Rubriken gliedert, geht auch der Fotograf vor. Seine Annäherung an Polen erfolgt in sieben Themenschwerpunkten: Sehenswürdigkeiten, Aktivitäten, Shopping, Schlafen, Essen, Transport und geführte Touren. Auf seiner mehr als 10.000 Kilometer langen Reise begegnet der Fotograf den unterschiedlichsten Menschen und lenkt den Blick meistens auf Orte, über die kein Reiseführer berichten würde. Jakob Ganslmeier zeigt in seinen Bildern ein Land voller extremer Kontraste, zwischen Aufbruch und Verfall, Konsum und Armut, Hochglanzfassaden und dörflicher Trostlosigkeit. Die kleinformatigen Farbfotografien kombiniert er mit kurzen Texten, die oftmals das jeweilige Motiv ironisch kommentieren. Bewusst wählt Ganslmeier für seine Texte die gleiche Präsentationsform wie für seine Fotos. Durch die Gleichrangigkeit von Bild und Text werden einerseits die vertrauten Seh- und Lesegewohnheiten gestört und andererseits die komplexen und vielfältigen Wechselbeziehungen zwischen ihnen auf besondere Weise aufgezeigt.
