Añadir al carritoSoftcover. Condición: Very Good. First edition. Cover photo by Dorothy Wilding. Quarto. Two nested bifolia making eight pages. Bumping to the corners, soiling and foxing to exterior, and some light soiling to the interior, still a complete and very good copy. For voice and piano. Plate imprint, "M.E. 20." Contains short samples…of two other songs. The writer of the lyrics to this piece, Jean Aylwin, was better known as a singer and actress, particularly for her character roles in Edwardian musical comedies. Aylwin (both her and Burns being Scottish) wrote the lyrics in dialect, "The message I wad gie ye noo/Whatever may be fa/Is never mind the lowrin' cloud/The sun's no far a." A photo of Aylwin appears on the front cover of this obscure piece dedicated to the memory of poet Robert Burns; *OCLC* locates only a single holding and it appears to be equally scarce in the trade.
