"The day-by-day journal of one of the more noted of the missionaries among the Santee-Sioux Indians. It describes in detail, Hinman's life, his experience and adventures with the Indians; the Sioux outbreak and massacre of 1862. Bishop Henry Whipple's eulogy on the Christian chief, Taopi, convays the belief that peace on the frontier was dependent on the Indian's conversion. A scarce item with only one copy currently listed.
