Die Skepsis, mit der heute die Errungenschaften der ,wissenschaftlich-techni-schen Zivilisation in den Blick genommen werden, findet in der Reaktuali-sierung des Kulturbegriffs einen immer auch polemischen Halt. Es sieht so aus, als ob die alten Gegnerschaften zwischen Kultur und Zivilisation, Gemeinschaft und Gesellschaft, zwischen dem Allgemeinen und Besonderen erneut zur Entscheidung stünden.
