Unpaginated booklet, softbound, with ten gravure plates in clear sepia photography, two folding out to doublespreads, each tissue-guarded; booklet is oblong, 6x9 inches, buff cardstock bearing the school shield in gilt and fastened at one end with decorative cord. The front cover is edgeworn and dust-soiled, with a short rough tear at the foredge, the back cover is dusty, the narrow untitled spine panel has an inch-long burst at the tail and a snag at the head. Plates and their tissue guards are near fine. Founded 1867, a military-style prep school; find site and interior photos: gorgeous approach through light groves, conventional architecture, depressing laboratory, stodgy parlour for when mum comes to visit. Et cetera. The sole whiff of things military is a photo showing, from a great distance, a parade ground and sixty or seventy uniformed cadets with shouldered arms, caption reading simply "Battalion".
