It was issued serially, in 2 volumes: vol. 1 was the 'flora' resource, a well-illustrated list of plants, names, medicinal use, edible plants & fruits. This volume did not have the usual colophon, citing the city of publication, how ever we assume it was published in Nanning. Volume 2, was limited to medical practice. . FROM THE BEGINNING: . The third fly leaf is a full page printed in red Hanzi, a slogan by Mao, it reads: . "Rescue the dying and heal the wounded, practice revolutionary humanitarianism. Mao Zedong." . After this page should have been LIN Biao's most famous of all slogans, in facsimile: " Du mao zhuxí de shu: Read Chairman Mao's books, Ting mao zhuxí de hua: Listen to Chairman Mao's words, Zhao mao zhuxí de zhishì banshì. Act according to Chairman Mao's instructions, Zuo mao zhuxi de hao zhanshì: And be a good soldier of Chairman Mao." . LIN'S slogan was plucked as usual after September 1972, when Mao censured LIN for subversive activities. From then on LIN was purged as a 'party traitor' and all things LIN were expunged from society. His writings, slogans, books, photos and any articles about him were to be defaced, removed from public view.
