In the apparently hot summer of 1825 Gilpin Gorst travelled to Ireland on Society business and left us this quirky account of what he found there. In 1843 W.H. Sharp was to write in Retrospect of the Affairs of the Irish Society that this narrative was ".a curious and private publication although printed at the Society's cost, copies of which are very scarce". Rare on the market to this day. With a page from the Londonderry Sentinel Aug. 17 1886, reporting on a later visit by the Society, loosely inserted.…

Included are: 4 x King George III ACTS OF PARLIAMENT dated 3rd June 1809 titled 'An Act for enabling the Minister and Churchwardens of the Parish of All Hallows Barking, in the City of London to grant a Lease of certain Estates belonging to the Fame Parish, pursuant to an Agreement entered into for that purpose'. In very good condition. Stab stitched and printed on 1807 watermarked paper. Printed by George Eyre and Andrew Strahan, Printers to the King's Moft Excellent Majefty. 1809. Each identical Act comprises 4 leaves printed verso and recto SURRENDER: of three parts on waxed paper dated 20th June 1809.
