In der vorliegenden Untersuchung wurde die antimikrobielle Aktivität von drei verschiedenen Honigproben, nämlich Kombu-Honig, Malan-Honig und kommerziellem Honig, gegen pathogene Bakterien (Staphylococcus aureus, Micrococcus luteus, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella typhi, Shigella flexneri, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa und Acetobacter baumani) untersucht. Die für die vorliegende Studie ausgewählten natürlichen und kommerziellen Honigproben wurden in Chetheri Malai, Harur, Tamil Nadu, Indien, gesammelt. Der Kombu-Honig, der Malan-Honig und der kommerzielle Honig zeigten eine maximale Hemmungszone gegen Staphylococcus aureus.
