The book is organized as a complete course of dermatological study, opening with general skin science (anatomy, physiology, diagnostic fundamentals, primary and secondary skin lesi…ons) before proceeding through an extensive systematic survey of skin diseases: dermatozoonoses (scabies and other animal-related skin conditions), dermatomycoses (fungal skin diseases including trichophytosis, favus, and actinomycosis), bacterial skin diseases (pyodermas, impetigo, erysipelas, and related conditions), cutaneous tuberculosis (including an extensively illustrated section on the many clinical forms of lupus vulgaris), and physical/chemical skin injuries, including a notably detailed section on burns (Combustio) with clinical classification tables and treatment protocols. The volume is heavily illustrated throughout with 552 black-and-white figures plus 45 additional color illustrations across 9 plates, offering extensive visual documentation of clinical presentations. As a German dermatological textbook published in Vienna in 1941 - during the period of Austria's annexation into Nazi Germany and at the height of the Second World War - this volume is also of interest as a historical artifact of German-language medical publishing under wartime conditions, and specialist collectors of WWII-era Central European medical literature may find this aspect of the book's context relevant. Condition & Binding: Original publisher's cloth binding in black, with the title, authors' names, and publisher device gilt-stamped directly on the front board, and a separate paper spine label (now worn, chipped, and partially darkened/faded) bearing the authors' names and title in a maroon/pink ground with gilt rules at head and foot. The spine label shows notable wear, loss, and discoloration, which is the primary condition concern for this copy; the boards themselves are in good, clean condition with minimal wear. Overall- very good.
