Curschmann lebte danach, abgesehen von zwei Reisen nach Paris und einem längeren Aufenthalt in Wien, in seiner Heimatstadt, nahm lebhaften Anteil am dortigen Musikleben und gab gelegentlich Gesangsunterricht. Er zählte zu den beliebtesten Liederkomponisten seiner Zeit (Curschmann-Album', 1871)" (DBE). CXXXI ("Or che 'l ciel et la terra e 'l vento") mit unterlegtem Text der ersten zwei Strophen. - Der Sohn eines Weinhändlers studierte seit 1824 Rechtswissenschaften an der Universität Berlin, später in Göttingen, widmete si…ch jedoch als Schüler Ludwig Spohrs und Moritz Hartmanns bald der Musik. "1828 wurde im Kurfürstlichen Hoftheater von Kassel seine Operette 'Abdul und Erinnieh oder die Toten' mit Erfolg aufgeführt. Curschmann lebte danach, abgesehen von zwei Reisen nach Paris und einem längeren Aufenthalt in Wien, in seiner Heimatstadt, nahm lebhaften Anteil am dortigen Musikleben und gab gelegentlich Gesangsunterricht. Er zählte zu den beliebtesten Liederkomponisten seiner Zeit (Curschmann-Album, 1871)" (DBE). - Leicht fleckig.
