Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Industrial wastewater including those from petrochemicals petroleum refining and coking plants contain appreciable amount of phenol or chlorophenols which have been identified as a hazardous compounds for many aquatic organisms by Environment Protection Agencies. Compliance with these stringent discharge limits and the most economic was of achieving this without loss of production has thus become a challenge to human ingenuity and responsibility. This has led to continued refinement of existing treatment technologies and recognition and development of promising emergent technologies like liquid-liquid extraction. This book consists of three chapters. The first one is the introduction which contains theoretical background of liquid-liquid extraction requirements of solvent used for extraction, general physical properties of the solvents and literature survey related with these solvents. The experimental part is presented in the second chapter including purification of solvents and chemicals used for this study. The third chapter contains results and discussion which includes the determination the ternary equilibrium diagrams and the mutual solubillities of the binodal curves. 68 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -The aim of the present work was to study the thermodynamic behavior of polymer blend via determination of miscibility . Miscibility (or immiscibility) tests are performed in three techniques: viscometry method, DSC analyzer and FTIR to test polymer blend in solid state. Two polymer blends were prepared . the first one was Poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) and Poly vinyl acetate (PVAc) , and the second was Poly vinyl chloride (PVC) and Polystyrene (PS).Calculations of Flory -Huggins interaction parameter for two systems was performed and the results pointed to miscible blend for PMMA/PVAc blends and immiscible blend for PVC/PS blends. So there is a good agreement between the experimental results and calculations of interaction parameter based on Flory - Huggins theory .Differential scanning colarimetry (DSC) analyzer gave thermogram curves revealing one glass transition temperature for PMMA/PVAc blends except at (20/80) composition , this indicates that the system is miscible except at (20/80) composition . But , PVC/PS blends showed two glass transition temperature so the system is immiscible.FTIR analysis for PMMA/PVAc blends depicted a weak interaction between the two polymers 104 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Both chemical industry and academia search for alternative solvents to meet the cleaner technology requirements since the most widely used solvents are volatile and harmful. In this book, the technical feasibilities of room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) as bulk liquid membranes (BLM) for phenol removal from Industrial Wastewater was investigated. Room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) used as a membrane mainly due to their properties of low vapor pressure, low volatility and they are often stable. Four ionic liquids with high hydrophobicity were used: 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate [Bmim] [PF6], 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imide [Bmim][NTf2], 1-Ethyl-3-methyimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl) imide [Emim][NTf2] and 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate [Hmim][PF6], in which, phenol Extraction efficiency and stripping efficiency were studied. The effect of different types of anion and hydrophobicity of the ionic liquids on the phenol extraction and stripping efficiencies were investigated. Different operating parameters of feed phase pH, feed concentration, NaOH concentration were studied. 180 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Obtaining accurate values for vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) is very important in the design of separation equipment and some industrial applications in chemical engineering. So in order to obtain accurate properties of VLE attention has been turned to calculate them from equations of state (EOS), noting that those equations of state are strongly nonlinear as well as inaccurate results may by obtained when they are applied to nonideal and polar systems. To overcome this problem efforts were directed to modify or improve EOS and their mixing and combining rules. In this book, isobaric vapor- liquid equilibrium for ternary systems has been measured at 101.325 KPa. The measurements were made in recirculating equilibrium still with circulation of both the vapor and liquid phases. . In this book the calculation of VLE K values is done by using the modified Soave Redlich and Kwong (SRK), modified Peng and Robinson (PR) equations of state and the proposed method that uses the new, three-parameter, temperature dependency form alfa function for the attractive term A of the Peng-Robinson equation of state. 324 pp. Englisch.…

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - The study of gasoline + alcohol and ethers mixtures using the methods of physical-chemical analysis is considered at the present time as a difficult goal as gasoline is an extremely complex mixture of hydrocarbons of varying composition. Ethers and alcohols are being blended with gasoline to increase octane number and to reduce air pollution problems associated with leaded gasoline.Ethers and alcohols used as gasoline additives (oxygenates) have excellent antiknock properties and are environmentally acceptable substances. The calculation of vapor-liquid equilibria of gasoline additives is important because of the difficulty of obtaining experimental values and because it gives a picture of the general behavior of liquid-vapor mixtures. This book provides information not currently available from a single literature source. The book comprises five main parts, each devoted to a specific aspect of gasoline additives. This book provides readers with a very clear understanding of the properties of oxygenates in gasoline blended forms. The editor hopes that industrial researchers, chemists, chemical engineers, and graduate students will recognize this book as a valuable resource reference.…
