Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book ingeniously reimagines the classic Christmas story through a unique lens. Set against the backdrop of World War I, it transports Santa Claus to the front lines, leaving his wife to navigate the complexities of gift-giving in an unfamiliar world. The author masterfully weaves together historical events, such as the Liberty Loan drives and the sacrifices made by soldiers, with the timeless magic of Christmas. Through the eyes of a diverse cast of characters, the book explores the themes of patriotism, sacrifice, and the true meaning of giving. From the ambitious Colonel to the loyal Barkis, from the selfless Red Cross Nurse to the steadfast Mrs. Ruggles, each character's perspective illuminates the impact of war on individuals and communities. As they navigate the challenges of the holiday season, their interactions reveal the resilience of the human spirit and the enduring power of hope. This thought-provoking book offers a fresh and poignant perspective on the Christmas spirit, inviting readers to reflect on the significance of the season and its relevance to the broader human experience.
