A collection of sporting anecdotes collected and edited by 'Ellangowan', pseud…onym of James Glass Bertram, concerning a great variety of sports.James Glass Bertram was a Scottish author, known as apprentice to Tait's Edinburgh Magazine. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally sound with some shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, the boards soiled and marked, damp staining to the front board. Minor chipping to the head and tail of the spine, which is lightly darkened. Alan Thornton's bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are generally very clean throughout, only odd marking to the occasional leaf. Good. None (ilustrador). book.
