Paperback. Condición: New. The book accompanied the eponymous exhibition at Brainlab/Munich, which was open until the end of September 2025. The works of the 16 artists come from the collection of Sergio Linhares and Stefan Vilsmeier. The collectors present this selection hoping to illuminate important and difficult themes such as, among others, discrimination, displacement, and violence but also to remind of our shared rootedness in nature. "Art has no obligation to comfort us; it can challenge, disrupt and remind us that our coexistence is fragile". The volume shows installation views along with close-ups of the individual works and it includes short texts for each artist along with an essay by curator Tereza de Arruda.…

Gebunden. Condición: Sehr gut. Gebraucht - Sehr gut Ungelesenes, vollständiges Exemplar; in sehr gutem Zustand, leichte Lagerspuren, als Mängelexemplar gekennzeichnet -Clemens Krauss restlessly shuttles across history, his vehicles are painting, video art, sculpture, and performance. Yet Krauss is not 'just' an artist, he is also a psychoanalyst and physician. As such, he has first-hand experience of time as the defining factor of existence, daring him to play with it. The bosom of painting is where he feels safest after his hazardous excursions back into his youth and forward into death. Executed in thick paints, his work is physical, material, which is also to say, it exists in time: everything passes away, even the picture. Evanescent, more than anything, are encounters of the sort Krauss stages as part of his psychoanalytical practice, all that remains is the indelible impression they leave. To be indelible, to recall the past, while also 'letting happen what has never happened,' as he puts it, these are the ambitions he pursues in his art. Preserved between the covers of the present catalogue and reproduced in thousands of copies, his works now fan out in an instant to circulate for an indeterminate period of time among countless hands, whence they will effortlessly penetrate the barriers of our inner lives to bring us one step closer to transcendence., Clemens Krauss pendelt rastlos zwischen den Zeiten, seine Vehikel sind die Malerei, die Videokunst, die Bildhauerei und die Performance.

Hardcover. Condición: Good. Hardback in good condition. Minor tear on top right corner of cover.Chiharu Shiota (*1972 in Osaka, Japan) is one of the most sought-after artists in the world, at the latest since the presentation of her installation in the Japan Pavilion at the Biennale in Venice in 2015. Everyday objects, mementos, and objects characterize the artist's pictorial language and stand for the subject matter in her oeuvre-recollection, homeland, migration, death, and life. The key figures in her expansive installations with wool threads are old suitcases and shoes, keys, pieces of clothing, furniture, and letters, which she enthrallingly integrates into her works and performances. In the present publication, photographs, film stills, drawings, prints, and objects from the artist's archive comprehensively document the stations in Shiota's oeuvre and illustrate her mostly site-specific, temporary installations. The book is published on the occasion of the first retrospective of the Berlin-based artist and concentrates on her creative work of the last twenty years. Copyright © Hatje Cantz Verlag.…
