First, the main requirements and considerations that need to be taken into account when designing visualisation tools to support decision-making under uncertainty and risk have been identified and analysed. Second, based on these requirements, information visualisation tools for portraying information about the decision problem and raising the awareness of decision-makers about the uncertainty and risk associate with decision-making have been designed and implemented. Third, the usefulness of these tools has been evaluated through a qualitative user study. The results provide useful insights into the benefits of using information visualisation for decision support under uncertainty and risk. 212 pp. Englisch.
