Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book provides a detailed description of the Earth as understood by the best geographers of the 18th century. The author utilized not only the most up to date printed materials, but also a vast network of personal and professional correspondents to collect data on the various countries he discusses. The book is divided into four volumes, with the first volume focusing on the Northern European countries of Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Russia, Prussia, Poland, Lithuania, Courland, and Semigalia. Rather than simply rehashing the works of his predecessors, the author visited many of these places himself, lending a fresh perspective to the work. The book discusses the political systems of each region, important cities and towns, industries, and natural resources. In short, readers will find this book is not merely a dry recitation of geographical facts, but a rich and nuanced portrait of Europe's northern tier in the 18th century. Condición: Befriedigend. Pappe Einfacher neuer Pappeinband, sauberer Schnitt, nachgeschnitten. September 1724 in Stadthagen, Schaumburg-Lippe; 28.
