Aruba, commonly called the Raab, iffues in Stiria, and joins the Danube near Raab.
Leitha, Litaba, a fmall river betwixt Au ria and Hungary, falls into the Danube near Altenburg.
Here are alfo two remarkable lakes, both abounding with fifh; namely, Balaton or Plattenfee, in the Palatinate of Simigen, eight miles long and in fome places two broad; and Neu edleifi'e, lacus Pei/onius, lying betwixt the Palatinates of Oldenburg and Wie elburg. By this river the Oedenburghers pretend to foretel whether it will be a good year for wine or not, as when full of water it is faid to portend a bad vintage, whereas afmall quantitybe tokens plenty and excellence of wine. Among the Carpathian mountains are four lakes.
