Helen Binyon was the daughter of English poet, dramatist, and scholar, Laurence Binyon, who developed a career as an artist and illustrator, studying with Paul Nash and Eric Ravilious. She illustrated many books for the Oxford University Press, and was also a marionettist and teacher of puppetry. Some of the books she illustrated include,The Picnic, A Wet Afternoon, Polly & Jane's Houses, andThe Railway Journey and she is the author of Eric Ravilious: Memoir of an Artist.
