S.I.R. was an extremely important homophile organization in the 1960s-70s and "Vector" was the main gay magazine for the Bay Area during those years. The magazine began life as a newsletter in 1964, merely several folded and or stapled sheets with news and calendars. The late Sixties found the magazine concentrating more on local and national news of interest to gay men. The final years saw the magazine turn more to a standard gay men's magazine with photos of young men from around the Bay Area.

Magazine. First Edition. 64p. including covers, 8.5x11 inches, illustrated with photos of nude young men, artwork and ads, very good magazine in stapled pictorial wraps. Andy's Donuts - Center of the Universe on Castro photos. Also a Harvey Milk for Supervisor full-page ad. S.I.R. was an extremely important homophile organizatio…n in the 1960s-70s and "Vector" was the main gay magazine for the Bay Area during those years. The magazine began life as a newsletter in 1964, merely several folded and or stapled sheets with news and calendars. The late Sixties found the magazine concentrating more on local and national news of interest to gay men. The final years saw the magazine turn more to a standard gay men's magazine with photos of young men from around the Bay Area.

There is a portait page between pages 38 and 39, and their is a child's drawing on the back of the portrait page. There are a few other small marks… inside like smudges, or line in the margins (similar to the look as is a pen was drop, ball point down). Overall very good condition. None of the marks foundimpede the readablity at all. ; 5 3/4" x 8 1/2" ; 281 pages.
