A new out of this world tale by Ruth Plumly Thompson founded on and continuing The Famous Oz Stories by L. Frank Baum! Jack Pumpkinhead is the hero and his adventures are as strange and wonderful as any ever recorded by the Royal Historian. Of course Jack loses his head more than once during these episodes, but always some friend comes forward with a new pumpkin head and before the adventures end it really seems as though his pumpkin-seed brains are working better than ever. Peter, the brave young baseball pitcher from Philadelphia, who first arrived at Oz in 'The Gnome King of Oz,' is back and renews his friendship with Jack. In this adventure, Peter and Jack meet an Iffin - one of the most curious and remarkable creatures found in OZ. They are all friends and come to each other's rescue in all varieties of danger. You will hold your breath with anticipation in this tingling episode. Jack, Peter, and the Iffin confront Mogodore, a robber baron, who captures Princess Ozma and plans to force her to marry him and become the ruler of all Oz. How his wicked plans ultimately fail is captured in the final pages of this gripping Oz Story! 253 pages. Insured post. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" Tall. Neill, John R. (Rea) (ilustrador).…
