Albrecht Peiper was a son of the dermatologist, pioneer pediatrician and director of the University Children's Hospital Greifswald Erich Peiper (1856-1938). Albrecht Peiper studied at Greifswald, Freiburg i. Br. and Munich Medicine. After graduation in 1914, and serving in the World War I, Peiper received his pediatric training at the Children's Hospital of the University of Berlin. From 1924 he was working at this clinic as a senior physician. In 1937 he joined the NSDAP. In 1943 he became the chair of paediatrics at the University of Greifswald and Deputy Director of the University Children's Hospital. After the end of World War II he was first scientific assistant at the University Children's Hospital Greifswald and practicing pediatrician in Greifswald. From 1948 to 1958 he was professor of paediatrics at the University of Leipzig and director of the University Children's Hospital. …
