Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: new. Noel, Gina Ilustrador. Paperback. A Heart-Pounding Adirondack Adventure Where Every Moment Matters.Nine-year-old cousins Bella and Nash couldn't be more different. Bella is very observant and quick to share her opinion, while Nash is a nonverbal autistic boy who experiences the world through a unique lens of sights and sounds. Together with their grandfather, Pop, they head deep into the rugged beauty of the Adirondack Mountains for a weekend of campfire stories and wilderness exploration. But the trip takes a terrifying turn when Nash wanders away from the campsite and vanishes into the dense forest. With Pop unaware of the mishap and daylight running out, Bella takes it upon herself to help her cousin who she previously judged too harshly . She isn't just tracking a lost relative-she's trying to see the world through Nash's eyes to understand where he might have gone. To bring them both back safely, Bella will have to face her own fears, solve the puzzles of the wilderness, and lean into a bond stronger than words. Why Readers Aged 8-12 Will Love This Book: A New Perspective: Offers a beautiful, authentic look at neurodiversity and nonverbal communication, helping kids develop empathy and understanding for peers who move through the world differently. The Great Outdoors: Richly detailed descriptions of the Adirondack geography, from towering pines to rocky peaks, making it a perfect read for young campers and nature lovers.Themes of Bravery & Inclusion: A powerful lesson that being a hero doesn't always require a cape-sometimes it merely takes a little compassion and the courage to truly see something.Processing Big Thoughts and Ideas: Along with the new perspective, this book tackles the topic of grief from losing a love one, as well as rewards and consequences for your choices.Perfect for fans of Hatchet by Gary Paulsen or A Boy Called Bat, this heartfelt adventure celebrates the strength of family and the beauty of the things left unsaid. Añadir al carritoHardcover. Navy cloth boards with gilt spine lettering and stamped lettering on cover. Black dust jacket with color-illustration and yellow lettering. xix, 381 pp. Color illustrations. "Bright Lights of the Dark Ages is a major new volume on early Medieval art. It features over two hundred stunning and extremely rare early medieval gold and precious stonework objects, including brooches, buckles, shields, clasps, spoons and other 'grave goods, ' that were interred as status symbols with their owners in burials mounds across Europe. The new societies of the early Medieval period which developed on the periphery of the great Roman Empire--Germanic barbarians in Western Europe, Sarmatian and later Alanic tribes around the Black Sea, and the eastern frontier cities bordering the Parthian Empire in Iran--were all shaped by interaction with the Roman Empire, and profoundly influenced by its material culture. Author Noël Adams surveys the magnificent pieces that were made to advertise power and wealth in these new 'barbarian' kingdoms which arose after the fall of the Roman Empire, and in doing so shows the dramatic and surprising relationship between these 'migration era' objects and later medieval art. In a volume full of wonderful images, highlights include Gothic and Visigothic imperial style brooches from modern-day Slovakia and Crimea, superb Gallo-Roman spoons and enamelled domed brooches and buckles from Northern Europe and Britain." VG/VG- small tear at top front of dust jacket.

Añadir al carritohardcover. Condición: Good. Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.
