Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a new and compelling geological theory, based on decades of meticulous fieldwork. The author proposes that many of the Earth's mountain ranges were not formed by volcanic eruptions, as was previously believed, but rather by the deposition of marine sediments that were later uplifted and crystallized. This theory has far-reaching implications, as it challenges some of the most fundamental assumptions about the Earth's geological history. The author provides a comprehensive analysis of the evidence supporting his theory, drawing on a wide range of geological disciplines. He also discusses the implications of his theory for our understanding of the Earth's mineral resources and the search for new energy sources. Thought-provoking and meticulously researched, this book is a must-read for anyone interested in the Earth's geological history. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…

Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book is an extract from a larger work authored by one of the foremost geologists of the early 19th century. Providing a captivating insight into the geological study of the early 1800s, the book details an illuminating investigation of the inactive volcanoes of Vivarais and Velay, while also reflecting on the history of the planet and the origin of its current form. The author approaches these volcanic formations with the latest scientific techniques and technologies, framing his findings within the context of existing geological theory and his personal interpretation of the evidence. The book goes on to discuss the interdependence of the various strata, with the aim of uncovering the unique history of the volcanoes being investigated, their eruption patterns, and their profound effect on the landscape. Qualche segno d'uso e screpolatura al dorso, peraltro esemplare genuino e ben conservato. Prima edizione, rara.
