Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Poor. Doubleday and Company, Inc., 1946; Garden City, New York. Hard Cover. Book condition: Good. Dust jacket condition: Poor. Unstated edition, indeterminate printing due to the absence of any number line. Hardcover in unclipped dustjacket. 8-5/8" tall, 328 numbered pages includes a frontis and 12 illustrations by Thomas Hart Benton (I could include only one of the 12 full-page illustrations her on ABE--if you wish to see more of them, email me via ABE). This Literary Guild book is in decent though not really presentable condition: the exterior is square, reasonably clean, with the top front corner bumped (fabric is torn over the bump) but free of edge dings with slight bumping at the heel of the spine and more serious bumping at the head, with slight fabric fraying (see photo). Also, the spine and all edges have faded (see photo); hinges are strong. Except for a mostly erased grease pencil marked price on the FFEP and an inked name/date/city on the back of the FFEP, the interior is perfectly clean and completely free of writing, stray marks, stains and any sort of paper damage; paper is modestly toned and is still quite flexible. Not remaindered or ex-library but definitely a Literary Guild Book edition. The poor quality dust jacket is fragile and has chips and tears that are evident in the photos; jacket is now protected by mylar jacket cover. Clearly the draw of this book was and is the illustrations by Benton.
