Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a 19th century perspective on the need for parliamentary reform to give a fuller voice to the British people in the House of Commons. The author argues that this is vital to preserving the constitution of England and Wales. The author also offers suggestions for concurrent alterations to the House of Lords. They propose extending the franchise to more citizens, changing the representation in various parliamentary boroughs, and granting the right to vote to certain types of operatives in newly-created parliamentary boroughs. The author also emphasizes the importance of preventing corruption and maintaining the balance of power between social classes. This book offers a glimpse into the political debates of the time and the concerns of those who sought to expand the franchise. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of British democracy.
