The model character also extends to functional similarities, in that they catalyse the oxidation, by oxidant, of sulfoxide, styrene, cyclohexene, phenol, trans-stilbene etc. Vanadium complexes have also been found to catalyze the oxidation and epoxidation of various organic substrates.
