His name is hardly mentioned or spoken about, let alone crossing the minds of Muslims.Yet, the unique services he rendered for the Muslim Ummah are nothing short of phenomenal. Rukn-ud-Din Baybars was a Kipchak Turk, first a slave, who was then sold into the royal house, where after he gained immense prominence due to his brilliance in warfare and administration. He came into power after Sayf-Ud-Din Qutuz- another brilliant strategist who stopped the Mongol invasion in its tracks. Rukn-ud-Din Baybars emulated Salah-ud-Din and battled the Crusaders and Mongols time and again. He dealt the final blow to the Crusaders, and they were never able to recover from it. He built a Masjid in Cairo, which stands to this day. He also renovated Al-Masjid An-Nabawi and built a hospital in the blessed city of the final messenger. Rukn-ud-Din Baybars passed away in Damascus and his grave is under the dome of the celebrated library, Al-Zahiriyyah, which he had set up.He cared for the weak and the orphans and took care to educate them too. This English rendition of his life was originally authored by Aslam Rahi in Urdu.Revert Muslimah Online Store has the honour and privilege to present this brilliant and unique work.May Allah accept this work and let it serve to educate, inform and illuminate.
