This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -Knowledge of pressure fluctuations on the bed of the stilling basins caused by the hydraulic jump due to the potential severe damages during the operation of these structures is essential. In this book, it has been mainly focused on dimensionless pressure parameters in free hydraulic jumps. Pressure points were located downstream of an Ogee spillway along the centerline on the bed of a USBR Type I stilling basin with a smooth bed. This research was conducted in a laboratory flume with different flow discharge. The pressure data of the points on the basin's bed were collected using the pressure transducers with 20 Hz frequency in 90 seconds. Some statistical methods were used to analyze the collected pressure data. In the present study, different dimensionless parameters such as X, X, S, K, C P, CP+, CP-, Nk%, and k% were investigated. In this study, a series of new relationships were proposed to estimate the dimensionless pressure parameters in free jumps for Type I stilling basins. The pressure field in hydraulic jumps were investigated to help better understanding the energy dissipation process and optimum designing the stilling basins. 136 pp. Englisch.
