However there is little empirical evidence of the advantages to expect in the implementation of an specific formulation of educational technology. This is specially so in Secondary Education. Our empirical research aims at contributing to the understanding of what critical parameters are influencing the use of ICT in the classroom. For this purpose, we devised a Corporate Learning Environment, that included both a Learning Management System and an E-portfolio with customising capabilities for the learner, to use in a blended design. Our subject learners and control group were Upper Secondary Education Spanish students in the context of English as a Foreign Language. We focused our research on the overt use of strategies to improve their reading skills. The findings are promising. 364 pp. Spanisch.
