ESTC confuses by stating 36 volumes, in fact 35 monthly issues were in all published, originally issued in wrappers, but the volume issues with title page and publisher's address are not mentioned separately. Although Cambridge and UCL have the complete set, even individually they are rare, comprising varied articles of a popular nature, with much local interest, as well including both poetical and mathematical material. Evidence of Stockton's cultural status at this time is testified by Joseph Ritson and his early associations with the town.…
