Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: new. Paperback. The inspiration for my poetry is God. He has given me many blessings, and among them is a unique understanding of life. Most of us if not all go through life witnessing events we do not understand. I was once the same. However, there came a time when I began to understand life more clearly. I came to understand why certain things happened to me in the past, why they are happening in the present, and what I might expect in the future. When a person is struck by a car and survives, or when someone skydives from ten thousand feet and their parachute fails to open yet they live, people are quick to say that person was lucky. They were not lucky. Luck had nothing to do with it. They survived because they were saved by God. I, too, have a story like that to tell.On November 3, 1984, I was walking home along the shoulder of a road when I was struck from behind by a car. I suffered seven fractures to my left leg, four fractures to my pelvis, and a closed head injury. I spent three weeks in a coma, four weeks connected to life-support, seven months in the hospital, and two and a half years in rehabilitation.I eventually emerged from the coma and recovered to a point where I could live a normal life, though I lost my sense of smell due to the brain injury. I survived not because I was lucky, but because I was saved by God. That experience gave me a deeper appreciation for life and a profound desire to build a relationship with God. I have achieved both, and they have served as powerful inspiration for the poems I have written.I hope you will enjoy them. God bless you. This item is printed on demand.
