To prepare autonomous vehicles for road t…raffic, the software and system components must be thoroughly validated and tested. However, due to their criticality, there is only a limited amount of data for safety-critical driving scenarios. Such driving scenarios can be represented in the form of time series. These represent the corresponding kinematic vehicle movements by including vectors of time, position coordinates, velocities, and accelerations. There are several ways to provide such data. For example, this can be done in the form of a kinematic model. Alternatively, methods of artificial intelligence or machine learning can be used. These are already being widely used in the development of autonomous vehicles. For example, generative algorithms can be used to generate safety-critical driving data. A novel taxonomy for the generation of time series and suitable generative algorithms will be described in this paper. In addition, a generative algorithm will be recommended and used to demonstrate the generation of time series associated with a typical example of a driving-critical scenario. 30 pp. Englisch.

For example, in the form of a kinematic model. Alternatively, artificial intelligence or machine learning methods can be used. They have been widely used in the development of autonomous vehicles. For example, generative algorithms can be used to generate such safety-critical driving data. However, the validation of generative algorithms is a challenge in general. In most cases, their quality is assessed by means of expert knowledge (qualitative). In order to achieve a higher degree of automation, a quantitative validation approach is necessary. Generative algorithms are based on probability distributions or probability density functions. Accordingly, similarity measures can be used to evaluate generative algorithms. In this publication, such similarity measures are described and compared on the basis of defined evaluation criteria. Therefore, ischaemic postconditioning and pharmacological preconditioning with lidocaine and xylazine were investigated in two experimental in vivo studies. By evaluating different variables for intestinal ischaemia reperfusion injury by use of histomorphology, immunohistochemistry and biochemical analysis, the results of this study demonstrate the applicability of these treatments in experimental small intestinal ischaemia in horses. 146 pp. Englisch.

The main issues for UV LEDs are still a limited internal…quantum efficiency due to a high amount of threading dislocations along with a limited light extraction efficiency due to total internal reflection at the AlN/sapphire interface. Therefore, high-temperature annealing of AlN/sapphire layers and growth on nanopatterned sapphire substrates were comprehensively investigated.High-temperature annealing was applied to AlN layers of different strain and thickness grown by metalorganic vapour phase epitaxy (MOVPE). The threading dislocation density could be successfully reduced by more than one order of magnitude down to 6 × 108 cm-2. Wave optical simulations of UV LEDs on nanopatterned sapphire substrates (NPSS) were conducted and showed a potential increase in light extraction efficiency compared to a planar substrate. The optimized MOVPE growth process on sapphire nanopillars and sapphire nanoholes resulted in a fully coalesced and atomically smooth AlN surface. The threading dislocation density was reduced to 1 ×109 cm-2 for AlN on both nanopillars and nanoholes. UVC LEDs emitting at 265 nm wavelength were grown on top of the developed templates. Increased internal efficiency was obtained by reduced dislocation density and more efficient light extraction was achieved on NPSS in case of a transparent heterostructure and reflective contacts. Thus, the developed templates yield considerable improvement in light output compared to conventional templates. 156 pp. Englisch.

The main issues for UV LEDs are still a limited internal quan…tum efficiency due to a high amount of threading dislocations along with a limited light extraction efficiency due to total internal reflection at the AlN/sapphire interface. Therefore, high-temperature annealing of AlN/sapphire layers and growth on nanopatterned sapphire substrates were comprehensively investigated.High-temperature annealing was applied to AlN layers of different strain and thickness grown by metalorganic vapour phase epitaxy (MOVPE). The threading dislocation density could be successfully reduced by more than one order of magnitude down to 6 × 108 cm-2. Wave optical simulations of UV LEDs on nanopatterned sapphire substrates (NPSS) were conducted and showed a potential increase in light extraction efficiency compared to a planar substrate. The optimized MOVPE growth process on sapphire nanopillars and sapphire nanoholes resulted in a fully coalesced and atomically smooth AlN surface. The threading dislocation density was reduced to 1 ×109 cm-2 for AlN on both nanopillars and nanoholes. UVC LEDs emitting at 265 nm wavelength were grown on top of the developed templates. Increased internal efficiency was obtained by reduced dislocation density and more efficient light extraction was achieved on NPSS in case of a transparent heterostructure and reflective contacts. In diesem Beitrag wird eine neue Methode vorgestellt, um komplexe Fahrsituatione…n sicher bewerten zu können. Dabei wird ein Teil der Zusammenhänge über Fahrzeugbewegungen durch stochastische Modelle beschrieben. Das noch fehlende Wissen wird durch eine Methode der künstlichen Intelligenz generiert, sodass zur Sicherheitsbewertung ein vollständiges stochastisches Modell zur Verfügung steht. Dieses Modell liefert Aussagen über aktuelle Fahrsituationen wie z. B. die Wahrscheinlichkeit einer Kollision mit einem Vorderfahrzeug oder die Wahrscheinlichkeit einer schweren Kollision. Aus diesen ermittelten Größen können Gefahrenwarnungen erzeugt oder Bremsmanöver eingeleitet werden, aber auch neue Fahrfunktionen schon in der Entwicklungsphase analysiert werden. Die Anwendung der Methode wird anhand von aufgezeichneten Fahrzeugbewegungsdaten aus einer Verkehrssimulation demonstriert.
