Paperback. Condición: new. Paperback. What if emotional and behavioral symptoms we experience are not solely mental health disorders, but are also signals from deep within our bodies-guiding us toward uncovering hidden underlying causes? In Counseling From Within, licensed professional counselor and trauma specialist, Staci Duvall invites readers to look beyond traditional talk therapy and explore the biological, nutritional, genetic, and environmental influences that impact our mental health and overall wellness. Blending her clinical expertise with her own personal journey through integrative medicine, this book offers a thoughtful and compassionate view of what we might be missing in talk therapy-holistic healing. While honoring the power of the therapeutic relationship and evidence-based counseling practices, Staci gently encourages readers to expand the lens from which we view mental health care. She explores the role of the microbiome (gut), inflammation, genetic variants, autonomic dysfunction (POTS), nutrient imbalances, detoxification pathways, and lifestyle factors that can mimic-or intensify-psychological and physical symptoms. Through an integrative framework, she teaches the reader how to incorporate functional medicine principles, complementary and alternative (CAM) practices, and genetic variant data into individualized counseling treatment goals focused on healing from within and symptom management. This book is for: Counselors and helping professionals seeking a broader, ethically grounded integrative perspectiveClients who feel "stuck" in therapy and wonder if something deeper is contributing to their symptomsIndividuals searching for root-cause answers beyond symptom managementAnyone curious about the connection between mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and relational dimensions Inside, readers will find: Historical and current-day perspectives on mental health diagnosing and treatmentPractical tools for integrating lifestyle, nutrition, and complementary strategies alongside therapyAn explanation of the 5-R gut-focused healing modelThe clinical process of change is explained through stories and fables that encourage us through the difficulties of changeInsights into AD/HD through both traditional and functional frameworks-from leading specialists and brain-based specialistsA collaborative exploration of how genetics, toxins, inflammation, and autonomic nervous system dysregulation can imitate psychological disordersSpecific ways to support genetic variant needs (MTHFR, COMT, and MAO-A) while detoxifying the bodyDetails of how Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome often unknowingly presents in mental health careWays to identify Dysautonomia (including POTS and post-viral flares) that mimic anxiety, panic, and other mental health diagnosesReal-life reflections and tips from the author's personal health journey and decades of counseling experience Counseling From Within encourages thoughtful collaboration between counselors, clients, medical professionals, and integrative providers while empowering the reader to ask tough questions about your own healing journey and clinical practice. If you have ever asked, "What am I missing in my counseling relationship?" this book offers hope, insight, and integrative resources to help us all learn how to heal by Counseling From Within. Hardcover. Condición: New. Estado de la sobrecubierta: New. 3rd Edition. New Annotated Third Edition, 610 pages. Over 1,100 photgraphs and illustrations, 240 in full color. Hardcover with a dust jacket. Huge volume. 9" x 12". The "Bible" on Kentucky rifles. Mr. Kindig's thoughts concern American flintlock rifles as works of art and this book is a grand display of this art. His thesis is that the gunsmiths who made these rilfes were the finest artisans who worked in early America. He proves this by showing detailed photos of 262 of the finest pieces from his famous collection. Flintlock rifles were produced chiefly along the Appalachian piedmont from the eastern border of Pennsylvania to South Carolina. From locality to locality within this region distinctly different artistic details were used to decorate the rifles, and distinctly different styles of stock architecture and metal mountings were used. Kindig's study is the first to recognize the existence of these many schools of gunsmithing and to show the importance of them to the study of the rifle and its art. This Annotated Third Edition contains all of the information that was in the first two editions with a number of additional photographic views of the rifles. Its been almost thirty-five years since the Second Edition was published and even more information has now become available. Through the help of a number of dedicated scholars and collectors from the Kentucky Rifle Association and the Kentucky Rifle Foundation, this Annotated Third Edition has been made possible. This monumental work now contains even more aditional information on the guns and the men who created them. The original negatives have been scanned to enhance their quality and to include the lock portions of the rifles. An additional 48 pages of full color photographs have been added as well, showing multiple views of some of the most important examples extant. A wonderful classic that has been out of print for many years is once again available with much more informations for the collector and historian. A truly outstanding book.…
