Boards have a little bumping to the spine and corners. Page edges are browned with quite heavy spotting. Endpapers are browned with previous owners bookplate to the front pastedown. Pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. Jacket has one small closed edge tear and chipping to the top and bottom of the spine and the corners. Originally published in the US by Random House in 1951. There is a little bumping to the corners of the boards which are otherwise unmarked. Quite heavy browning to the page edges and the pages are also browned but otherwise clean and unmarked. The jacket has quite a bit of browning to the spine with some chipping with a little loss at the top and bottom - the bottom has a quarter-inch piece missing. The front panel has three small chips and a few small tears to the edges with two small stains. The rear panel has a small hole to the surface towards the bottom edge and a little edge chipping. Envelope: 6 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch stamped and postmarked 15 August 1938 from Barrow, Alaska and addressed to Mr. Newell D. Voss, Brownsville, Texas. Humorist Will Rogers (1879-1935) and aviator Wiley Post (1889-1935) both perished in a airplane crash near Point Barrow in Alaska. Three years later, a memorial was placed at the site, financed by national subscription. This is a letter sent to those subscribers, signed by the business manager Wilmar F. Sims. It accompanied a cover sent to the subscribers, and also describes some pictures they have made available to the public. Signed by Author(s).…
