Condición: Very Good. With original writing and correspondence relating to Bertha Williams, Sidney A. Cooke, Etha Snodgrass, and Jocelyn Todd-Naylor. The main contents of the archive are poetry typescripts, many of which present mediations on nature, spiritual contemplation and mystical reverie. There are titles such as 'Souls',… 'Angel rain', 'Ancient Trail', 'Echoes of Silver Flute', 'Nomadic Star' and 'Chalice of Divinity'. All appear to be unpublished and are most likely by Bertha Williams. There is also a short piece of writing titled 'The Maple Tree', newspaper clippings, invocations, postcards, three loose copies of fairy illustrations by Margaret W. Tarrant, and typed quotes from authors such as Fiona Macleod, William Wordsworth and Walt Whitman. 'and all about it was a halo of radiance as though the very air had turned to atoms of living stars' Bertha Williams published at least one book of poetry titled Covenant with Light in 1952. Sidney A. Cook was the president of the Theosophical Society's American section. Around 80 loose pages of writing and typescripts and 63 pages of quotes in a notebook. The notebook is in poor condition with the binding detached, though the overall condition of the archive is very good. A wonderful collection with excellent potential for further research.
