Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Neuware - 'The Good-Natured Man' is a classic comedic play that delves into the pitfalls of excessive kindness and the challenges of social sincerity. The story follows Mr. Honeywood, a protagonist whose pathological desire to be liked and his inability to refuse any request lead him into a whirlwind of debt, misunderstandings, and romantic confusion. Oliver Goldsmith crafts a witty and satirical exploration of the 'sentimental' literary trends of his time, presenting a work that is both a humorous stage production and a poignant critique of human nature. As Honeywood navigates the pressures of his own benevolence, he is surrounded by a cast of vivid characters that highlight the absurdities of eighteenth-century social expectations. From the gloomy Croaker to the flamboyant Lofty, the play uses sharp dialogue and farcical situations to examine the difference between true virtue and superficial appearances. 'The Good-Natured Man' remains a vital piece of English dramatic literature, showcasing Goldsmith's unique ability to blend humor with insightful social commentary. This work is an essential read for students of classic drama and those who enjoy masterful satires on the complexities of the human heart. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. This work was reproduced from the original artifact, and remains as true to the original work as possible. Therefore, you may see the original copyright references, library stamps (as most of these works have been housed in our most important libraries around the world), and other notations in the work. This work is in the public domain in the United States of America, and possibly other nations. An astounding collection of American Indian art, remarkably acquired by art dealer Eugen Thaw in a little over a decade in the 1980s and 1990s, was presented to the Fenimore Art Musuem. This lavish catalogue raisionne of the entire collection illustrates and discusses every object in this collection, which embraces the art of all the indigenous peoples from the Arctic to the Rio Grande and from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Añadir al carritoPocket map in original full leather folder with "City of New Haven" gilt on front. Map is uncolored with light scattered foxing and one short tear mended. 52 locations keyed at bottom right. This is a later variant of Thompson 142, but it does not contain any reference to L. S. Punderson who is listed there as the engraver and publisher. That earlier issue contained 42 keyed locations. This issue identifies wards and has many geographical features (roads, bridges, buildings) not on the earlier printing. This map also has, on the inside front cover, a manuscript plat of the main quad of the Yale campus, with each building identified. There is an 1865 ownership signature, very difficult to decipher, though the first name appears to be Gustavus.…

Land owners identified. Three inset city plans at top right, of New Haven, Waterbury and Meriden. View of State House at top left. According to Thompson, this was the first map for a Connecticut county published in the 1850's, during which maps of all of its counties were mapped. The only earlier map of Connecticut counties was the 1833 map of New London and Windham Counties by Williams Lester in 1833.
