The carefully written discussion questions wil help them learn to read analytically, questioning as well as comprehending the texts. Writing assignments sequenced to elicit informal responses, information gathering, more formal essays, and essay revisions will assist students to develop a productive writing process that will serve them as they move on into their own disciplinary work.
