Paperback. Condición: New. Here is an eclectic collection of short stories from Walter Keady, told with the author's much acknowledged and well-honed humor, penetrating with wit and irony the foibles of ordinary people in varied situations and times of life. The twenty stories in the collection range in territory from Ireland to Brazil and to the USA. Some are set in modern times and some belong to times past. The title of the book reflects its contents, for the stories are about love and justice - and at times injustice - and in many run the deceptions that people indulge in when dealing with each other in everyday life. Through all, Keady delves into the characters of his protagonists and captures their innermost thoughts and feelings. About the Author: Walter Keady was born in County Mayo, Ireland. He grew up on a farm and was employed in the Irish Civil Service before studying for the Catholic priesthood. Paperback. Condición: new. Paperback. Ignatius Lally was born and raised in a conservative Catholic environment. He discovered he could speak to God and God spoke back to him when he made his first Holy Communion at the age of seven. When he found out that Santa Claus did not really exist he asked God was He, too, like Santa, but God said no. So Ignatius continued to talk with God and God with him. He eventually embraced the priesthood out of love for his God, and continued his friendship with Him despite breaking His laws, as defined by the Church, many times. But when he was falsely accused of an unspeakable crime, God stopped speaking to him and he was left to fend for himself. This led to many adventures and brought him to a place in his belief that was far removed from where he started. And his God never spoke to him again. This item is printed on demand. At its center is the tale of a pedophile priest who has been transferred by his bishop when his crimes catch up with him. It is also the story of one of that priest's victims who, thwarted in her quest for justice from the bishop, appeals to the state, and eventually finds it. The iniquities of the priest reverberate through the parish of Cranmore and his successor parish priest, the diocese of Kingsford, and the whole of Ireland. This item is printed on demand.
