The content of this book comes as a whiff of fresh air and provides an insight into digitization technique in ultrasonic instrumentation, implemented in a pulse-echo technique, generating ultrasonic waves in the range 1 to 10 MHz. An in-house designed digitizer module, using a low cost and slower analog-to-digital converter is found to be effective in acquisition of signals using synchronous digital delay under software control, developed in C at the back-end. Displaying results using suitable control panel has been developed in Visual Basic. The presented work articulates novel digitization technique in the design of cost effective digitization of signals in the measurement of ultrasonic attenuation and velocity of propagation in liquids.
