Vuylsteke (1836-1903), Belgian liberal politician and writer of essays and poetry, noted as a leader in the Flemish language movement; president of the Willemsfonds and founder of the Flemish weekly periodical 'Het Volksbelang' (1867), as well as the founder of the Flemish liberal association 'T' Zal Wel Gaan'; author of several works on Flemish history as well as romantic and nationalistic verses.
