Die vorliegende Publikation dokumentiert die Ausstellung »Kapitalströmung« in der Kunsthalle Tübingen. In den gezeigten Werken geht es um Bilder von Kapitalströmen und Kapitalismus: Künstlerisch kommentierende oder abstrahierende Bilder vom Wert des Geldes, zum Beispiel am Finanzwirtschaftszentrum Frankfurt oder im Steuerparadies Kaiman-Inseln, Bilder von kapitalistisch gedachten Menschenströmen, etwa aus Touristen, Flüchtlingen oder Shopping-Mall-Besuchern, Bilder von der Eigendynamik des Reichtums, von »Luxemburg Leaks« und »Panama Papers«, aber auch von Befreiungsmomenten. Die zum Teil eigens angefertigten Gemälde, Zeichnungen, Fotografien, Videos und Installationen betonen dabei die Anschauung: Sie kreisen eher um Metaphern, um symbolische Gesten und Indizien, als um die Untersuchung konkreter Fälle. Die beteiligten Künstler nähern sich ihren Themen eher assoziativ, als über journalistische Recherche oder politische Positionierung. Einige von ihnen sind augenscheinlich von Karl Marx' Theorien zu Kapital, Arbeit und Ware inspiriert und suchen nach künstlerischen Übersetzungen dieser Theorien in die Gegenwart, also nach symptomatischen Bildern. 96 pp. Deutsch.
