Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book chronicles the travels of Theodor von Heuglinâ"an esteemed scientist and explorerâ"through the lesser-known regions of what is now eastern Sudan in the mid-19th century. The author's primary focus is to shed light on the geography, natural history, and people of this vast and diverse area. As an experienced scientist, Heuglin provides detailed insights into the local flora and fauna, while his keen eye for cultural nuances offers a glimpse into the lives of the region's inhabitants. The book also delves into the complex geopolitical context of the time, including the slave trade, and provides a valuable historical record of a region undergoing significant change. Through Heuglin's meticulous observations and vivid descriptions, this book remains an essential resource for understanding the history, ecology, and cultures of eastern Sudan. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
