The book business under the name of the Caxton Head was founded in 1874 in Birmingham, but moved to London in 1885; in 1900 the name of the firm was changed to James Tregaskis, who had married the widow of the founder. Describes 164 items of great rarity, nearly all are annotated; included are several unique copies. Of hispanic interest: 15 Preces-Latinae, dedicated to Felipe III of Spain by Diego de Barreda. ca.1600. Unique book of cut paper and coloured silks. £50. The text is of gothic letters cut out of paper with the utmost care and delicacy, and shown in colours by the insertion of coloured silks.the workmanship is of the highest order. 137 Sallustius Crispus - Conjuración de Catalina.
