Hardback. Condición: New. This incisive book integrates the academic fields of sustainable production and consumption (SCP) and sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) as a framework for challenging the current economic paradigm and addressing the significant ecological and environmental problems faced by the contemporary business world.Outlining the growth and progress of consumption in the developed world, initial chapters explore the numerous problems that have emerged from the current mode of consuming resources, and how we might engage in more sustainable consumption practices. The book goes on to address the historical development of mass production and the ecological damage caused by an unsustainable linkage between mass consumption and mass production. Considering the future of the supply web, it illustrates how SSCM can play a leading role in the transition towards a more sustainable economic system if it is able to address contemporary ecological concerns more effectively. This insightful and optimistic platform for ecological supply chain management is a rousing call to arms for business and management scholars hoping to propose innovative methods of improving the sustainability of consumption, production and supply webs. It will also benefit the work of business practitioners and entrepreneurs looking to engage in more sustainable business operations.…

Añadir al carritoHardback, 660 pages, Size:115 x 165 mm, Language(s):French, Latin. ISBN 9782851213167. Summary The first surviving work of Saint Augustine, Against the Academicians opens the Philosophical Dialogues of Cassiciacum, composed at the end of 386. Its main subject is the question of knowledge, dealt with by refuting the 'Academicians', the supporters of the New Academy who intended to propose a sceptical interpretation of Platonism. This dialogue is an exceptional testimony to the state of mind of the young Augustine, recently converted and marked by the influence of Neoplatonism, as well as a key to his forthcoming intellectual and doctrinal project. It also illustrates the critical reception of Cicero, one of the most famous defenders of the Academicians, making this work not only an important moment in Roman philosophy, but also an essential milestone in the history of ancient scepticism and beyond. Volume 4/3 of the 'Bibliothèque Augustinienne' offers a new translation, based on a revised Latin text, of the three books of Against the Academicians. It includes an introduction that sheds light on the historical and philological, literary and philosophical context, and a commentary in the form of supplementary and infrapaginal notes. It is intended for readers of Augustine, as well as for all those interested in ancient philosophy and literature. TABLE OF CONTENTS Introduction Chapitre I.
