Cloth is frayed at the corners and ends of the spine; exposing the boards beneath. Cloth is faded around the edges, but the gilt stamping is bright and handsome. Front and rear gutte…rs are cracked; but muslin is intact. Binding is secure but fragile. Deckled edge. Inscription from previous owner on front free endpaper. Title page dated 1914. Unpaginated. Interiors are lightly foxed but clean and free from man-made marks. Black-and-white illustrations as well as color plates throughout. Overall, a fair reading copy with very handsome illustrations.
