      Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. Oversized hardcover with tan cloth over boards, blue and pink embellishment across covers, golden lettering along spine. Spine toned about a shade darker brown than covers, similar toning along edges. No lettering or illustration marred. Crown and foot of spine bumped, corners fraying slightly. No damage to binding. Title page dated 1936 in roman numerals (MCMXXXVI), no date on copyright page. Final page designates this a limited edition, hand-numbered 1104 of 1500 copies printed. This edition was designed by Eric Gill, who composed a new type just for this book. Limited edition page is signed by Eric Gill, and the illustrator, Denis Tegetmeier. 135 pages. All clean and bright, clean black line drawings by Tegetmeier featured throughout. Binding neat and tight. Please email us with questions or to request photos. Signed by Illustrator(s).

Gill passed away after completing the designs but before publication, Tegetmier, his son-in-law converted his work to engravings. Bookplate in the front of Lawrence Clark Powell who was an American librarian, literary critic, bibliographer and author. Published by The Golden Cockerel Press, London, 1941. This edition printed on the 28th day of April, 1941 is limited to 350 copies. This is copy number 103. Printed on mould made paper and bound in 1/4 Morocco. "leather spine damage, all but detached, cloth a little grubby, inside foxing throughout, heavier at the front and back, illustrations have managed to keep foxing free". Eric Gill (engraved by Denis Tegetmeier) (ilustrador).

This is the 1984 Rampant Lions Press limited edition, with eight etchings by Denis Tegetmeier. First thus. The page following the copyright page states: "This edition consists of 200 copies, divided as follows: 188 copies, numbered 1 to 188, consisting of the text and the plates; and 12 copies, numbered I to XII and signed by the artist, containing a set of the etchings proofed in 1929. This copy is numbered 124." The colophon page states: "Designed and printed by Will Carter at the Rampant Lions Press, Cambridge. Hand-set in Monotype Bembo, the book was printed on Hodgkinson's mould-made paper, and the etchings were printed in Paris at the Atelier Georges Leblanc on Arches velin." Number IX of 12 special copies signed by the artist and containing an additional set of eight etchings proofed in 1929, from an overall edition of 200. Printed on Hodgkinson's mould-made paper, the etchings printed at the Atelier Georges Leblanc on Arches velin, quarter bound in Morocco with gilt lettering to the spine by Sangorski & Sutcliffe. With it a copy of the original prospectus with one plate loosely inserted and a card signed by Sebastian Carter. Couple of small marks on spine, otherwise very clean. Slightest signs of use only. Signed by Artist.
