From the publisher: "Nursing Education in Thanatology is an excellent source book for planning thanatology courses or for integrating concepts of thanatology into a nursing curriculum. As the formal teaching of thanatology in schools for health care professionals is generally overlooked and ill-defined, many students and professionals will learn to deal with dying and grieving upon their first encounter with death. This practical book will aid educators in planned inclusion of thanatology in curriculum to insure the preparedness of health care professionals in assisting patients and/or their families during an emotionally difficult period. There are many suggestions presented for beneficial methods of integrating thanatology education into existing courses or offering thanatology as a single course for education professionals. A vital resource for inservice coordinators working with clinicians in oncology, hospital staff, and health professionals in community or outpatient health centers, Nursing Education in Thanatology is excellent reading for helping professionals working with elderly people.". Hardcover. Condición: Fine. [LAW]. Ed. Michael McCann. Contributors: Alan Hunt, Joel F. Handler, Susan M. Olson, Austin T. Turk, et al. "Law and Social Movements (The International Library of Essays in Law and Society)." London and New York: Routledge, 2016. English language. Hardcover in glossy blue boards. Edited nonfiction collection of twenty-two academic legal articles with series preface, introduction, and name index. Royal 8vo. 9 3/4 x 6 3/4 inches. 46 oz. xxvi, 636 pp. Minor use. Text clean. Fine to Like New. ISBN: 9780754624974. "The work of both socio-legal scholars and specialists working in social movements research continues to contribute to our understanding of how law relates to and informs the politics of social movements. In the 1990s, an important line of new research, most of it initiated by those working in the law and society tradition, began to bridge the gaps between these two areas of scholarship. This work includes new approaches to group legal mobilization politics; analysis of the judicial impact on social reform struggles; studies of individual legal mobilization in civil disputing; and an almost entirely new area of research in cause lawyering. It brings together the best of this research introduced by a detailed essay by the editor.".…

Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good. 1st Edition. Inscribed in the year of publication to the ffep by Seamus O'Sullivan "To Mary Lavin from Seamus O'Sullivan with best wishes for 1945". Quarter cloth & paper covered pale green boards.Very Good plus in the like d/w. First Edition, first printing. Printed at the Dublin University Press. Erratum slip tipped in. Seumas O'Sullivan was the editor of The Dublin Magazine, and Mary Lavin published her very first story, "Miss Holland," there in April 1939. O'Sullivan praised it as "a finished piece of work" whose "delicate restraint appealed greatly," and told her he would be glad to consider anything further she submitted. O'Sullivan was keen to encourage talented young Irish writers, and the relationship extended over many years. By March 1954, Lavin was writing to him as her "favourite editor" telling him she hoped her next volume would gain "a little lustre by an acknowledgement to The Dublin Magazine." The Dublin Magazine (which O'Sullivan edited from 1923 until his death in 1958) was a crucial venue for Irish literary talent of that era, and his championing of Lavin in 1939 came at an early and formative stage of her career, just as she was abandoning her PhD on Virginia Woolf in favour of fiction. The Mary Lavin papers at Binghamton University include correspondence to Lavin from Seumas O'Sullivan , confirming a personal relationship that went beyond formal editorial exchanges. We have not discovered any auction records of books inscribed by O'Sullivan to Lavin. A scarce association copy of a publication which is scarce in its own right. Inscribed by Author(s). …
