Detroit native Frank S. Szymanski played for the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and was a first round draft pick for the Detroit Lions in 1945. While playing for the Lions he attended law school and when his football career was over he went into private practice, later being appointed Auditor General in 1956 and becoming a Wayne County probate court judge in 1959 and serving until his death in 1987.…
